Really Just A Remote Test, But…

So back last year while I was still in Florida we had gone out for a team dinner. We ended up going to a place that I thought was one of the better, if not best, in the area for filet mignon. Better even than some of the high class really expensive places in the area known for their meat. The name of the place is Carrabba’s Italian Grill. It’s a chain and a fairly large one at that. Even still they had the best filet mignon and could cook it well. The rest of their fare was pretty darn tasty too and a number of the team made it there home base for food. One in particular who became a regular and basically had his own table, but that is another story. Anyway we were all gathered and I had ordered the filet. I suggested it to one of the guys there and he declined. In fact he said that he never orders meat at restaurants any more.
I asked him why and he told me. The reason is he feels that with quality meat that he purchases that he can cook a steak of any type that no restaurant can match and for a whole lot cheaper than what restaurants generally charge for a quality piece of beef. So I asked where he gets his beef. He referred me to a place that is very close to where we live that I hadn’t heard of. Mrs. LK probably has, but I couldn’t remember the name when I told her about it. I finally remembered to ask again. The store is called HOWS Market. It looks to be a small local chain in the SoCal area. I’m thinking we need to try it. In fact I know we need to. Especially since Mrs. LK has become a real pro at preparing the beef.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

We used to have a HOWS down the street, but they went out of business. We were bummed – they had a great meat department & deli! I hope you’re able to find one.
On another note, I don’t think Mrs. LK will be preparing beef for you any time in the near future. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend grabbing some dinner on the way home, maybe some flowers, and perhaps some butt-kissing chapstick because I heard SOMEONE (wait for it)…left some dishes in the sink. Either that, or you might consider using some points to stay at the Marriott down the street, cuz Mrs. LK is fuming! SO busted. (You’re welcome for the heads up). Good luck. May the force be with you!!
